Asian Confederation has new Promotion Commission

By the last decision of the Executive Committee, the Confederation set up a new commission for the promotion of draughts sports in Asia. The new Promotion Commission will work under the management of Mr. Zheng Xiugui (China). Mr. Zheng is an experienced organizer of world level tournaments for the last 10 years as well as a successful businessman.

At the closing ceremony of World Cup tournament (Lishui Open 2019) in Yunhe city, China, the President of Asian Confederation congratulated Mr. Zheng for his past contribution to the development of draughts sports in Asia by awarding “Certificate of Appreciation” and handed over the Certificate of Appointment as the chairman of Promotion Committee.

Lishui Open 2019 starts

Today in Chinese city of Lishui the 7th “Xingqiu Cup” China Open Tournament started with 109 players from 9 national federations. There are 16 and 8 international men & women grandmasters respectively. Some well-known players like Georgiev Alexander (Russia), Valneris Guntis (Latvia), Tansykkuzhina Tamara (Russia), Tkachenko Daria (Russia) and Sadowska Natalia (Poland) as world champions. Asian champions Dul Erdenebileg, Ganbaatar Ganjargal (both from Mongolia), Zhou Wei, Pan Yiming, Zhao Hanqing and Ala Tenghua (all from China) are also competing for the prize fund totally around US$ 50,000.

Distinguished guests are presented at the Opening Ceremony. Mr. Bat-Erdene Chimeddorj, ADC President was among them as the official guest representing World Draughts Federation (FMJD) and Asian Confederation.

Medals in 100-draughts

After Classic and Blitz events, Mongolia, China, and Uzbekistan had won the same number of gold medals as each has 7. By the number of silver medals, Mongolia is standing at the highest point at this moment. Tomorrow’s Rapid event will a decisive step for them.

ADC General Meeting

On 30 June 2019, during the Asian championship in Tashkent Asian Draughts Confederation had its General meeting at 10.00am in the hotel Le Grande Plaza.

Full members as China, Japan, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and Uzbekistan together with a candidate member Afghanistan joined at the meeting. Delegates from members discussed the report of ADC President and the future events and development activities. The championship as a united biggest event will go to Kazakhstan in 2021 while 2020 is not decided yet.
