Tokyo, Japan – September 6, 2025
Today marked the successful conclusion of the Rapid event at the Asian Draughts Championship in Tokyo, with Mongolia emerging as the tournament winner after a day of fast-paced and strategic competition.

China secured second place, while Hong Kong China finished in third. The event was officially opened by Mr. Baterdene Chimeddorj, President of the Asian Draughts Confederation, and Mr. Kusaba, President of the Japan Checkers and Draughts Association (JCDA). Their warm opening speeches welcomed all participants and signaled the start of an exciting championship.
The Rapid tournament featured 7 rounds, with teams competing in a Round-Robin format. The day was filled with drama, tactical brilliance, and surprising moments — especially from the young and talented players representing Chinese Taipei and Macau China, who impressed both the audience and seasoned players with their bold play and potential.

The championship is set to conclude tomorrow with the Blitz event, which will be the final stage of the tournament. The Blitz format will follow a 5-minute base time with a 3-second increment per move, offering one last high-intensity challenge for all teams. Once again, the players will face each other in a Round-Robin system to determine the final Blitz standings.
As the championship nears its end, the spirit of competition, friendship, and the growing strength of Asian draughts remains stronger than ever.
